Light is both physical and spiritual. man has the ability to understand only the physical form of light. He understands it only if he can see it. His vision is also a form of light, without which he cannot understand physical light. spiritual light is a special light that man cannot see but can only experience. The ruh (soul/spirit) within us is a form of light. The Quran is another form of spiritual light which cannot be seen but can be understood and experienced. we cannot understand any light if it is not given to us. Allah is the light of the skies and the earth. He is the source of all light. An intellectual has two minds, one mind that is given "a priori" by the Almighty and the mind that develops over a period of time. If the developing mind doesn't respect the given mind then it is as if you are standing in daylight and still cannot see.
