great isthmus;
nature ( Al-Barzakhiyyat al Kubra),
an Isthmus (Barzakh); the human being,
stands between the two oceans,
the cosmos and God.

Human, the last of God's creations, is the only entity which is central to both God and nature. Nature has the traits of God spread over in numerous conditions. God has all those traits in oneness. The Human, representing God, the one entity which brings all of these traits together, is the Isthmus. Nature was created for the human being. He is bestowed with the ability to choose between right and wrong, hence responsible to maintain the equilibrium that is naturally established between God and the cosmos.

In this installation, from the 'nur' series, Kayanat (universe), the creation of God, is the central space; Nur, the light, is the bestower of life; Insaan, the human, is the mul; Mud, smeared over the mul, is a cue to where we were created from and there we go back to.
